The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately half an hour to complete. Afterwards you will be provided with antibiotics and a prescription for pain medication.  Post-operative instructions will be reviewed and home testing kits will be provided to ensure that you are sterile afterwards. The doctor will follow up with you about a week later for a post-operative check.
